I had the same feelings about this movie. I found it painful to watch in every way. I expected a love story or a story about love but it was a story of abuse at its worst. I had planned to watch with my husband and I am so glad that he ended up watching something else. While the two actors are great actors, the movie script is truly about an abusive relationship and I don't need to see that and certainly didn't expect. To say ouch would be an understatement.
